Internet/Eatin' Finds
Oh fancy baking stuff, you make me so happy. Only problem is, it's pretty hard to justify purchasing a 2$ bottle of edible glitter in silver and paying 7$ for shipping. Maybe someday!
First the Sweet, next time the Savory.
The best site I've found so far is Fancy Flours. They have everything from bakeware to decorations, and typically things I've never even seen in Edmonton. Behold:
Dust Luster in Aztec Gold and Silver.
Mmm Cinnamin Sugar:
And the Extracts. Dear God, the extracts. Over 49 flavors! Anything from Butter Rum, to Rootbeer, to black licorice. I want them all.

Some links.
Here are some awesome websites that I usually go to on a daily basis. Some are girly, some are geeky but all of them are interesting reads.
Jezebel is a site that focuses on pop culture, politics, some fashion but mostly it's great articles by some amazing writers with a womens view on all topics.
I was made aware of this site after one of my favorite bloggers, Tracie Egan (formerly known as SlutMachine) began working there over a year ago.
Her site OneDataTime isn't updated that often, but its still a gooder.
I first discovered her site though, through yet another favorite Blogger, Rich of FourFour fame almost 4 years ago.
He has an amazing site, made most popular because of his cat Winston. Rich is great a making video compilations as well as loving/mocking his pop culture idols. He reviews horror movies, trashes the trashiest celebrities and he also does recaps for all my favorite completely guilty pleasure TV shows at his day job on the VH1 website. Here are some of his brilliant videos:
Mariah Carey in all her weird glory
Celine Dion is fucking amazing (My favorite by far)
And finally, Rich and Tracie joined forces to create the drug-infuced green haze advice column Pot Psychology. Also a favorite.
Another site I've been very into for a couple years is The Daily Coyote.
Schreve Stockton writes this site as well as Vespa Vagabond .

Belated Xmas with Mom and Robert
Mom and Robert before the present opening bonanza.
Chris showing the best cookie reaction ever. I love getting and giving homemade food. As a receiver, nothing makes me more happy than knowing someone wants to feed me. As a giver, it brings alot of joy knowing that someone enjoys the treats I made especially for them. Food = comfort = love. Fucked up, but yes it's true.
Me and my mama.
And now,
Some of the mega awesome things I got for christmas:
as seen here:
The amazing Amy Sedaris's book:
Shreve Stockon's Daily Coyote book
Plus an insane amount of kitchen stuff. If anybody had told me last year that I would be cooking 6 times a week, and absolutely loving it no less, I would have laughed in their face then ordered a pizza. Pretty strange how one year can make all the difference. Three cheers for acknowledging that some stereotypical feminine qualities and traits aren't a bad thing!

I Wanna Go To...
Well, anywhere and everywhere really. But here's a list of the coolest places I'd like to see. Of course my actual list is much, much longer but I've tried to condense it.
Devil's Swimming Pool In Zimbabwe, Africa
Victoria Falls is a 108m waterfall located between Zimbabwe and Zambia. There is a cool feature called "Devil's Swimming Pool" near the end of the falls. When the river is calm, you can walk to the very edge of the pool because of rock wall below the water.
Machu Picchu, Peru
Machu Piccu was built in 1450 but abandoned and remained lost until 1911. This Incan site was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Petra, Jordan
Petra is an archaeological site in Arabah, Aqaba Governorate, Jordan. It was also used as a set in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Angkor Wat, Cambodia
Angkor Wat is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia built in the early 12th century. Want see.
Grand Canyon, Arizona/Nevada
I've always wanted to go see the Grand Canyon. I've heard there is amazing hiking and it definitely reminds me of Drumheller on steroids.

Pretty Pictures and Clever Quips
A recent and growing obsession of mine has been reading comics..not your typical D.C or Marvel superhero-type fare, more like graphic novels with either bitter realistic characters and their mis-adventures, or completely bizarre and surreal strips about nothing in particular. Here's a list of the comics that I currently own:
Michelle's Comics!
Daniel Clowes : Quite possibly my favorite author of the moment, the tone of alot of his work has been mirrored in my life recently and I can't exactly STOP reading his comics...like I said its a growing obsession.
- Ghost World Shocks me that this comic was written by a man, and Enid Coleslaw (main character) is an anagram of Daniel Clowes. (Is also one of my favorite movies)
- 20th Century Eightball Collection of short stories and strips from Clowes's comic book series Eightball. The story 'Art School Confidential' will soon be a movie too.
- David Boring is anything but. While he isn't stereotypical comic book superhero, David has alot of superhero-like qualities, and his sidekick the lesbian-wise-cracking-best-friend Dot.
- Ice Haven Ice Haven is a wonderful little graphic novel centered around the town of Ice Haven and its bizarre inhabitants, the whole novel inspired by 1924 murderers Leopold and Loeb.
- Like a velvet glove cast in iron I have yet to read this
- Caricature I have yet to read this
Robert Crumb: A really messed up sexual deviant, blues-lovin', motherfucking, strange strange man who is interesting enough to have a documentary about him. (same director did Ghost World)
- The R. Crumb Handbook This is a sort of compliation of Crumbs older strips and newer return to comics.
- Complete Crumb Comics: The Early Years of Bitter Struggle (Complete Crumb Comics, Vol 1) is the first in a series from Crumbs comic strip that ran from 1958-1962. I hope to get the complete collection someday.
And the others...
- American Splendor: The Life and Times of Harvey Pekar a very depressing yet amusing look at Harvey Pekar's miserable life. Yet another one of my favorite movies.
- Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth An amazing comics that spans four generations and a century of sad, sad men, penned and inked by Chris Ware.
- 32 Stories : The Complete Optic Nerve Mini-Comics Adrian Tomine's complete comic strip Optic Nerve, published from 1991-1995.
